“That’s entertainment,” I heard someone say. The crowd cheered, peering down into the Wall of Death, a worn wooden motordrome with nicks and scars. The American Motor Drome Company clearly has this nostalgic stunt show dialed in as “America’s original extreme motorcycle show.”

Indian Motorcycle Racer

Meet Doc Batsleer from New Smyrna Beach, FL and his 1934 Indian Bonneville Sport Scout. The day we ran across this bike in 2012, its 45 cubic inches motored Doc around the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. With various bikes, he raced in the Pre-War, Class C Hand Shift and Vintage 50s classes.

The ABCs of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

There are many, many reasons we attend AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The bikes, the swap meet, the racing and the overall atmosphere created by motorcycle enthusiasts is an experience we don’t wanna miss. We were fortunate to have worked with the good folks at the American Motorcyclist Association to help convey the vibe of VMD (see the video at the end of the post). After going through our pics, here’s an alphabetical and photographic rundown of why we love attending this event.
