We’re gonna miss MotoGP in Indy. It’s a bummer, for sure, but we’re thankful for its long stay at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It also served as a powerful shot in the arm to the Indy motorcycle scene. Here, we’ll sum up why it was so special and why it’ll be missed.

During MotoGP weekend in Indianapolis, the motorcycle scene comes alive. One of the happening spots is Meridian Street spanning several blocks from Monument Circle down to Union Station. We filmed the MotoGP riders playing a little round-ball at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers in downtown Indianapolis. This cultural event, hosted by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, allowed the racers a chance to scrimmage on the pristine basketball court before MotoGP race weekend on August 8-10, 2014.
