Urals Unite at the 2019 Heindl Rally

We always look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at the Heindl Summer Open House & Rally in Eaton, Ohio. For the 13th year, the grounds of one of America’s top Ural dealerships were filled with smiling sidecar enthusiasts from all over.

We usually bring the sidecar rigs, but decided to bring our 1949 Dodge panel truck that was stickered-up with thematic branding. Along for the trip was Corey’s two sons and Casey’s son (whose custom sidecar bicycle made the journey as well).

See Casey’s build thread on this sidecar bicycle -> click here.
On any other day, sidecars are few and far between; on this day, they’re everywhere!

We saw a few sidecar dogs enjoying the festivities as well. Like their owners, they all have a hankering to have their face to the wind.

Get-togethers like this give you the opportunity to see how riders outfit and personalize their Ural.

When you step inside the clean, cool showroom at Heindl Engineering, you’ll find well-stocked shelves and new models on the floor. This is also where they host the prize drawings (they give away lots of stuff!).

Heindl Engineering’s President, Jon Heindl, holds the ticket jar while his niece picks the winners.

Woodworking craftsman, Dan Muhs created several custom prizes (Corey won some coasters!).

These guys came from southern States and are headed even further north.

The Heindls (pronounced “HYNE-duhl”) have built up a solid reputation with Ural riders since 2005. Located in farm country, their shop is in a pretty part of the country. If you’re in the area on the last Saturday in July, stop by for this annual event and the Heindl family will cook up a burger, hot dog, and baked beans for you. Find them on Facebook to learn more.
